A disappointing defensive performance from Town condemned them to their second home defeat of the season, Gillingham running out 4-3 winners. The Blues were never in front but levelled at 1-1 and 3-3, through Westlake, Couñago and Miller, Gills' sub Mark Saunders winning the three points late on.

Town came from two goals behind to win an astonishing game at Crystal Palace 4-3. The Blues were two down in 15 minutes but Richard Naylor's goals put them on terms by the break. Pablo Couñago thought he'd won it before a Freedman penalty drew Palace level but Shefki Kuqi grabbed a dramatic winner.

Matt Richards' first half goal was enough to beat Stoke City and give the Blues their seventh win in eight games. In truth it should have been more comfortable, Pablo Couñago missed a number of opportunities while Georges Santos had a second half header cleared off the line. Late on there was a scare when a Keith Andrews effort hit both of Kelvin Davis' posts.
